Dot NAME Domain Name Registrations

Introduced in 2001, the Dot NAME top-level extension is the sole TLD meant for personal websites only. These domain names can consist of personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other designations people are popular by. Initially, solely third-level registrations were allowed, so if you planned to purchase john.doe.name, you would have to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration procedures were liberalized and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level domains remained online.

Through our firm, you can register your dot NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the chance to alter the WHOIS information, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an already registered domain to our company if you get its EPP transfer authorization code from the current registrar and we will renew it once the transfer has been finished. There are no special prerequisites on who can obtain a dot NAME domain name, but in order to keep the idea behind its establishment alive, the .NAME Registry may verify who the Registrant is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration might be challenged.
